We provide a warm and encouraging environment for our children to learn, develop and interact through fun and creativity. Since our inception in the 1960s, we have kept the same ideals of family, community and putting children first, something that has enabled our kindergarten to grow and thrive throughout the years.
At Ashwood Memorial Kindergarten (AMK) we provide both three and four-year-old programs and we’re proud of our reputation for preparing our little ones for their journey into primary school. Our focus isn’t just on the children attending the kindergarten, but also on their families and friends. It takes a village to raise a child and the families who are part of the AMK village, are a part of the kinder for life.
We invite you and your family to visit us and:
Talk with our outstanding education team
Learn about our play based educational programs
Explore our newly renovated kindergarten
View our magnificent outdoor learning area
Meet the community behind the kindergarten
AMK’s kindergarten programs are rated as Exceeding National Quality Standards. You can read more information about how we have achieved this here.

Our natural surroundings give children a wonderful focal point for their play, learning and development.
They can float boats down the water creek, collect autumn leaves, watch snails slide along the ground, pick flowers to arrange in their sandpit cooking, explore hidden gardens and enjoy the smells and textures of their natural environment.
Our experienced team of qualified teachers and assistant teachers work hard to create a positive and creative learning environment for the children.

Across both our 3 year old and 4 year old programs the teaching staff all have a passion for engaging children in learning and supporting them to develop to their full potential through interactive, play based activities.
The foundation of both the programs is focused on encouraging children to explore the world through inquiring and experiment through play, both indoors and outdoors. Skills learnt at Kindergarten include developing social skills, problem solving skill, reasoning, verbal language, fine and gross motor skills and creativity.
